Welsh Higher Education

Welsh Higher Education Brussels represents the eight Universities in Wales. The Higher Education sector is fundamental to a future for Wales based on a strong knowledge-driven economy contributing to the economic, social and cultural well-being of Wales. The HE Institutions are closely linked to industry through networks, which provide a major source of expertise for Welsh and international businesses and encourage collaboration between SMEs and higher education institutions.

With its 8 Universities Wales has long been home to world-leading innovation and research and that includes Design. Arts and design courses can be found in all Welsh universities cities.

PDR, the International Design and Research Centre, based at Cardiff Metropolitan University has been at the forefront of new approaches to Design in Wales for years. PDR is the lead partner of the INTERREG EUROPE project Design4Innovation. Design4Innovation aims to integrate design into innovation programmes, monitor how many companies use design to bring new products and services to market and support government to develop Design Action Plans.
