Dutch Design Foundation

Dutch Design Foundation (DDF) is optimistic and believes in the problem-solving abilities of designers for advancing the world. Which is why DDF offers designers opportunities, support, publicity and a platform. DDF organises Dutch Design Week and Dutch Design Awards, but is active far beyond the Netherlands. Throughout the year they organise debates, lectures, exhibitions and meet-ups. Putting the best and most promising designers in the spotlights, and introducing their ideas and designs to the world.

Dutch Design Foundation is the overall organisation behind several Dutch and international design initiatives, like:

World Design Event (WDE) is an international design festival, held every four years in Eindhoven during Dutch Design Week (20-29 October 2017), which provides a platform for future makers, designers and thinkers to share ideas about the future of the city with the people of the city. The WDE programme comprises an international design conference, eight creative and thematic embassies, a temporary People’s Pavilion built with residents, and test sites around the city.

In October of each year, Dutch Design Week (DDW) takes place in Eindhoven. The biggest design event in Northern Europe presents work and ideas of more than 2500 designers to more than 295,000 visitors from home and abroad. In more than hundred locations across the city, DDW organizes and facilitates exhibitions, lectures, prize ceremonies, networking events, debates and festivities.
